The Molotovs Hit No.2 on the UK Independent Albums Chart With ‘Wasted On Youth’

The Molotovs have followed the release of debut album Wasted On Youth with a serious first-week chart result.

The record enters the Official Independent Albums Chart at Number Two for the week of 6 February. It also lands at Number Three on the main UK Albums Chart and tops the Album Downloads Chart.

It is a strong result for a young guitar band whose story has been built heavily around live shows and grassroots venues.

A very guitar-heavy independent Top Five

The same Independent Albums Chart also sees Cast enter at Number Three with Yeah Yeah Yeah and Kula Shaker at Number Four with Wormslayer. Lily Allen’s West End Girl sits at Number One.

For The Molotovs, though, this is the continuation we wanted to see after covering Wasted On Youth in January. Releasing a debut is one thing; discovering that people have actually gone out and bought it is another.

Grassroots stories become much more interesting when we keep following them after release day. The Molotovs now have a UK Top Three album to add to theirs.
