This policy explains how Imminent Infinity uses cookies and similar storage or access technologies. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small pieces of information stored on or accessed from your device. The same rules can also apply to technologies such as local storage, pixels, scripts, tags and similar techniques that store information on, or access information from, a browser or device.
Technologies used on Imminent Infinity
Our current WordPress installation uses technologies needed to operate and protect the website. Logged-in WordPress administrators may also receive WordPress authentication and preference cookies. These administrative cookies are not used to track ordinary readers for advertising.
Jetpack is installed and its Stats feature is currently active. Jetpack may use storage/access technologies or process technical usage information to provide website statistics. Our current Jetpack settings include support for browser “Do Not Track”.
Our newsletter signup is provided by Brevo. Brevo code is used on the newsletter form to process a subscription and may use technical information necessary to provide and protect that service.
Individual articles may contain third-party music, video or other embeds. Examples can include services such as Spotify or YouTube where we choose to embed their content. Those providers may use their own cookies, scripts or similar technologies when their content is loaded or used. Their own privacy and cookie information applies to that processing.
Necessary technologies
Some storage or access is necessary to provide a service you request, maintain security, authenticate administrators or transmit information across the network. Where a statutory exception applies, consent is not required, although we still aim to explain the technology clearly.
Analytics and other optional technologies
Analytics and third-party features can involve technologies that are not strictly necessary. Where UK law requires consent for a particular purpose, that technology should not be enabled for that purpose until the required consent has been obtained. Where a different statutory exception applies, we will provide the information and controls required for that exception.
Third parties and duration
Third-party technologies are controlled in part by the relevant provider and their names and durations can change when those services are updated. We therefore review the technologies used by the site when services are added or materially changed. Relevant providers currently include Automattic/Jetpack and Brevo, together with providers of any media embedded in an article.
Your choices
Where a consent or preference control is presented, you can use it to make or change your choice about optional technologies. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary technologies may affect some website functions. If a technology relies on consent, withdrawing consent should be as easy as giving it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the technologies or services used by Imminent Infinity change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
