The film documenting Oasis Live ’25 is beginning to take shape, with producer Steven Knight offering a fresh update on the project. For another look at this chapter of the band’s story, read our retrospective on Oasis’ final studio album.

Knight, best known as the creator of Peaky Blinders, has described the material as “phenomenal” and says the team has currently cut the film down to around four hours.

The documentary is being directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, the filmmakers behind LCD Soundsystem concert film Shut Up and Play the Hits.

More than a concert film

The interesting promise is that the project is aiming for something more structured than a straightforward collection of live performances. Knight has talked about an intimate, story-driven portrait of the reunion tour — potentially giving the film a life beyond simply documenting the setlist.

After the scale of Oasis Live ’25, there is certainly enough material. The challenge will be deciding what not to use.

There is no need to rush that decision. If the film can capture even part of what made the reunion feel so enormous without sanding away the atmosphere around it, it could become an important document of this chapter in the band’s history.
