Releasing a new song is one thing. Building a stage for other emerging artists at the same time is something else. Leeds alternative quartet Artio are doing both, with “Bloodless (-1)” arriving alongside their Soul Rot Forever EP and a band-led all-dayer at the Brudenell Social Club.

Bloodless (-1): a song about broken trust

“Bloodless (-1)” addresses betrayal and the complicated aftermath of losing trust in somebody. The band describe it as music for people who have been let down and are no longer prepared to plead for their side of the story to be accepted.

The song is part of Soul Rot Forever, a release that revisits material from Artio’s Soul Rot era. Alongside the new track are reimagined versions of “Algae Bloom”, “Seven Suns” and “Room Tone”. It’s a bridge between an existing body of work and whatever comes next, rather than a wholly new full-length album.

Seventh Sun Festival brings the scene together

Artio’s Seventh Sun Festival takes place on Saturday 14 November 2026 at Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club, with doors listed for 1pm. Artio headline a bill featuring Omoia, Helle, Breathing Below, Twin Size, Daisy Graves and IO.

That line-up is what makes the story especially interesting for Imminent Infinity. Instead of treating a local scene simply as the first rung on the ladder, Artio are helping create an event where several acts can reach an audience together. It’s the kind of practical grassroots activity that rarely gets the same attention as bigger tour announcements.

We’ve previously looked at investment in the spaces emerging musicians need and why affordable grassroots nights still matter. A band-curated all-dayer is another reminder that a music scene grows through people putting on shows, not just releasing songs. The same grassroots spirit runs through our coverage of Exeter’s Pushbike and the debate over how grassroots ticket-levy funding reaches smaller venues.

What’s next for Artio?

Following the Leeds event, Artio are scheduled to support Crawlers at London’s Village Underground on 20 November, reported as their final show of 2026. For now, the more immediate story is a band turning the end of one album chapter into an opportunity for a wider community.
